Snout Track
01 Hike

Snout Track

Park at the Snout Track Car Park along Victoria Domain Road. The walk starts at the Cook Strait Viewpoint, which is worth visiting even if you don’t plan on hiking. From there, it’s about a 40-minute easy walk on a clear path to the Queen Charlotte View. Some people turn around here, but the trail continues to the Snout and is well worth the extra distance. The return hike is mostly uphill until you reach the Queen Charlotte View again. The tip of the Snout is peaceful, quiet, and offers beautiful views.

Pro Tip

Avoid if it has recently rained.
