Colosseum
Walk around the historic Colosseum and admire one of Rome's most iconic areas. Purchase tickets to explore the inside, or head up to Via Nicola Salvi, just one street away, for great views with fewer crowds.
Pro Tip
Visit Terrazza Belvedere del Palatino to see the ancient ruins near the Colosseum.
Trevi Fountain
A classic stop for a reason. New access rules are in place during peak hours, so I recommend visiting before 9am or after 10pm to access the lower basin for free. If you're visiting during peak hours, the €2 entry fee is well worth it.
Pro Tip
Tossing a coin? Make sure to toss it with your right hand over your left shoulder.
Try Authentic Italian Tiramisu
This is one of my favorite desserts, so it was a must when I was in Italy. Every restaurant has its own take on tiramisu, so the only solution is to try as many as you can!
Piazza della Madonna dei Monti
The Monti neighborhood ended up being one of my favorite areas in Rome. Wander through its boutique shops, enjoy an aperitivo, and get lost in the charming streets.

Close to the Colosseum, yet it still feels like you can escape the crowds, even during peak season.
Piazza della Repubblica
Grab a bite to eat, then head to Piazza della Repubblica after dark. A beautiful fountain sits in the center, and the curved buildings are beautifully lit at night.
